Overview
Designed a Boomi orchestration layer connecting a Shopify storefront, a 3PL fulfillment partner, and a NetSuite ERP to automate the full order lifecycle from purchase to delivery confirmation.
What I Built
- Configured Shopify webhook listeners capturing new customer checkout events in real time
- Automated NetSuite sales order creation and customer profile matching/deduplication
- Engineered 3PL fulfillment order generation dispatched via secure SFTP flat-file/EDI protocols
- Implemented reverse synchronization of shipment status and parcel tracking numbers back into Shopify customer accounts
- Built an inventory reconciliation process balancing available-to-promise inventory levels across the 3PL, NetSuite, and Shopify
Architecture
Implemented an asynchronous decoupled messaging architecture using Boomi Atom queues. This pattern buffered high-volume incoming Shopify webhooks during seasonal promotions and flash sales, providing rate limiting and store-and-forward resilience that prevented downstream ERP API throttling.

Outcome: Fully automated order lifecycle. Eliminated ~15 hours/week of manual order processing across ops and fulfillment teams.
