Overview
Built Workato recipes to automate order flow from a Shopify storefront to a third-party logistics provider and back-office ERP, replacing a daily manual export/import process.
What I Built
- Real-time Shopify webhook ingestion pipeline handling new order and cancellation events
- 3PL order payload dispatch via REST API with bundle item disassembly and SKU mapping
- Fulfillment status and courier tracking number writeback to Shopify customer accounts
- ERP sales order and deferred revenue record generation aligned with financial ledgers
- Automated refund, RMA, and cancellation handling coordinated across all three endpoints
Architecture
Engineered recipes with persistent idempotency caching keys to manage Shopify’s at-least-once webhook delivery model. This prevented duplicate order creation at the 3PL and financial discrepancies in the ERP during network retries or transient endpoint failures.
Tech Stack
Outcome: Eliminated daily manual order processing. Order-to-3PL transmission time reduced from next-day to under 5 minutes.
